If you answered yes to the above questions then I’d love to talk to you. ATMAC is a boutique patent firm founded by yours truly back in 2014. I have fourteen plus years of experience in the patent industry and over the last three years have proven that ATMAC has a profitable business model. I’ve now reached the point where I don’t have time to help additional people. Rather than staying small, I have made the decision to scale up. To execute this plan, I need someone to lead the financial strategy, manage risk, maximize efficiencies and implement financial control structures and processes to support our growth.

Since this is a small company and I want to bring you on full time right away, you’ll initially be sitting in two seats: financial manager and patent admin. I know the patent admin role well and can train you on the job for that seat. You will be required to already possess the skills and experience for the financial seat.


To be handling the routine patent administration, bookkeeping and payroll functions by the second month of employment. By end of month three, to have developed a financial model and plan for quadrupling the revenue of the firm over a twenty-one-month period. Then to ensure an accurate financial position of the company is reported and to drive behaviours across the firm to execute the strategic plan and reach the quadruple revenue goal by the end of the second year of employment.

Seat 1 - Financial Manager

  • Financial models, budgets, processes, controls, and forecasts to support growth.
  • Bookkeeping and financial reports.
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Payroll and gov’t instalments + remittances.
  • Bank deposits and wire transfers.
  • HR and benefits admin.

Seat 2 - Patent Administrator

  • Scheduling and appointments.
  • Client and case file management.
  • Patent Office submissions and client reporting.
  • Incoming correspondence and deadlines entry.
  • Patent forms and template preparation.
  • Client document and information collection.
